PsychSpan in a Melbourne-based psychology practice providing psychological treatment and assessment for people across the lifespan. 

I have worked in a range of Mental Health settings across the public, private and community spaces. While I see people from across the lifespan I have a particular interests in working with children and youth (under 25), with the neurodiverse population, in particular with ASD, and with parenting challenges. I work from a holistic approach and my work with children includes the parents, caregivers and other appropriate supports in the intervention where clinically relevant.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents and young adults who are seeking support with mental health concerns including trauma, anxiety and mood concerns. I have a particular interest and expertise in providing gender affirming care, including the completion of WPATH letters for medical and surgical affirmation. More broadly, I enjoy working with members of the queer community, providing them with a safe and non judgemental space. I endeavour to provide care that is neuroaffirming and trauma informed, supporting all clients to be their authentic selves.

I prioritise warmth and authenticity, and strongly believe in supporting clients using a strengths-based, collaborative, person-centred approach. Having practiced across different settings, including educational (mainstream and specialist school), and private spaces, I have seen individuals across the lifespan, though my focus is on working with children and young people (under 25) as well as with the people and systems surrounding them (e.g., schools, parents, healthcare professionals) to support them.

Joelle is a clinical psychology registrar who has experience undergoing assessments and therapy with clients across the lifespan.

Joelle has experience with a wide variety of client's using ACT, CBT, CFT, playbased therapy, motivational interviewing and positive psychology. Joelle is passionate about feedback informed treatment, believing strongly in the importance of making therapy a collaborative space. Joelle aims to lead with authenticity and to deliver compassionate and client centred support to her clients.Joelle has experience undertaking psychological, Autism, ADHD, IQ and educational assessments.

Joelle is passionate about assessment, in particular enjoying teasing apart differential outcomes and looking at the nuances and specificities of the individual to ensure the most appropriate conceptualisation of clients. She believes this enables clients to develop their own understanding and receive the most appropriate support and intervention.
