PsychSpan in a Melbourne-based psychology practice providing psychological treatment and assessment for people across the lifespan. 

I have worked in a range of Mental Health settings across the public, private and community spaces. While I see people from across the lifespan I have a particular interests in working with children and youth (under 25), with the neurodiverse population, in particular with ASD, and with parenting challenges. I work from a holistic approach and my work with children includes the parents, caregivers and other appropriate supports in the intervention where clinically relevant.

Danielle Lawson

I enjoy working with people across the lifespan and have a particular interest in working with people who are neurodiverse, gender diverse and also those who are experiencing health related difficulties.  I have worked in numerous settings including public health, private practice and school settings. When working with clients, I aim to provide a client centred approach that is genuine, collaborative, warm, empathetic, and non-judgemental.  All clients deserve to feel safe, respected, and supported in exploring and addressing their difficulties.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages in my clinical work, which has included hospital and community-based practice and clinical research. I follow a bio-psycho-social model to therapy and assessment, which combines an understanding of the underlying biology of the brain and nervous system, psychological factors and conditions, and the social context within which they occur, to help holistically understand the client and their presenting difficulty or referral question. I offer a warm, supportive, and peaceful space to work collaboratively towards a client’s goals.

I am an experienced psychologist with a history of working in a variety of clinical contexts, including schools, hospitals, and private practice settings. I work with clients from across the lifespan, children (6 years and older) adolescents and adults, and I am equally passionate about assisting adults and youth through the many adjustments they experience. I believe that therapy is a highly individualised process, requiring collaboration, trust and encouragement and I seek to tailor my interventions in a way that reflects this.

I have worked in a variety of contexts, including private, care and protection, and youth justice settings, with a focus on the treatment of interpersonal trauma (sexual/physical/emotional abuse and neglect), and on supporting neurodivergent young people and the adults that care for them. I work with clients of all ages, but have a particular interest in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as their parents/families. I employ a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to my practice, value the involvement of a client's broader support systems, and always endeavour to make therapy a safe, fun, and nurturing process.
